The NMEDB is a publicly available application that consolidates New Mexico's environmental and public health data in an interactive map of the state. The NMEDB allows agencies, the public, private industry, and conservation practitioners to obtain a comprehensive view of what's happening on New Mexico's landscapes to enable data-driven decisions and minimize negative impacts to human health, plants, animals, land, air, and water.
As an Island nation, fishing has always been economically and socially important to our country. Ireland’s proximity to the rich, productive seas of the North East Atlantic provides an ideal resource on which to continue to develop the seafood sector. Ireland’s coastline, inshore and offshore waters contain some of the largest and most valuable sea fisheries resources in Europe. The NMPF supports management of sea-fisheries resources consistent with relevant environmental sustainability considerations and the development of the sector’s economic and social contribution to rural and coastal communities. The NMPF’s objectives in this sector include continuing to develop a sustainable seafood sector focused on competitiveness and innovation, with growth driven by a skilled workforce delivering value added products in line with market demands; promotion of a sustainable, profitable and self-reliant industry; sustaining primary food producers contributing to food security at a national and European level. The evaluation of potential impacts on any commercial sea fishing activities needs to be given full consideration. Engagement with the fishing industry and other relevant stakeholders should occur as early as possible in planning or proposal-related processes to afford a chance for proper consideration of the industry’s views.
Since 2008, MRIP has funded survey improvement projects and survey program reviews in all regions of the U.S. and its Territories. Projects span everything from utilizing electronic reporting tools to mail surveys to increasing precision of estimates. On this page, you can find all funded projects since 2008, read project plans, final reports, and monthly updates.https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.st.nmfs.noaa.gov/recreational-fisheries/MRIP/mrip-project
The NOAA Fisheries, Fisheries Statistics Division has automated data summary programs that anyone can use to rapidly and easily summarize U.S. commercial fisheries landings. https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://www.st.nmfs.noaa.gov/commercial-fisheries/commercial-landings/monthly-landings/index
Annual estimates are available for marine recreational fishing trip expenditures and durable equipment expenditures for the years 2006 through 2012. They are in nominal dollars, which are not adjusted for inflation. Marine recreational expenditures are categorized into the following expenditure types: for-hire trips, private boat trips, shore trips, and durable equipment expenditures related to marine recreational fishing, which include expenditures on fishing tackle and gear, fishing related equipment, boats, vehicles, and second homes. Contains 224 html files with Recreational Angler Trip & Durable Equipment Expenditures. The Ocean Health Index (OHI) is a comprehensive framework for evaluating the health of the world’s oceans. Using the best available data, methods, and analytical tools, OHI assessments synthesize data into concrete scores organized around 10 goals for the sustainable use of healthy oceans: Food Provision, Artisanal Fishing, Natural products, Carbon Storage, Coastal Protection, Tourism & Recreation, Livelihoods & Economies, Sense of Place, Clean Waters, and Biodiversity. Updating each year, the latest OHI information is available from NCEAS in Esri’s Living Atlas.
The Global Reservoir and Dam Database, Version 1, Revision 01 (v1.01) contains 6,862 records of reservoirs and their associated dams with a cumulative storage capacity of 6,197 cubic km. The dams were geospatially referenced and assigned to polygons depicting reservoir outlines at high spatial resolution. Dams have multiple attributes, such as name of the dam and impounded river, primary use, nearest city, height, area and volume of reservoir, and year of construction (or commissioning). While the main focus was to include all dams associated with reservoirs that have a storage capacity of more than 0.1 cubic kilometers, many smaller dams and reservoirs were added where data were available. The data were compiled by Lehner et al. (2011) and are distributed by the Global Water System Project (GWSP) and by the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN). For details please refer to the Technical Documentation which is provided with the data. The Global Reservoir and Dam Database, Version 1, Revision 01 (v1.01) contains 6,862 records of reservoirs and their associated dams with a cumulative storage capacity of 6,197 cubic km.
