This dataset shows the river network for West Africa and the estimated hydropower potential as well as several other interesting attributes. After detailed calculation, the attribute values were rounded to a reasonable accuracy. This dataset is not intended for local studies but only for regional comparison. The dataset was developed by ECREEE under the framework of the Small Scale Hydropower Program which is implemented by ECREEE. This layer is one of the outputs of a complete GIS Hydro Resource Mapping assessment project in West Africa.
