Overview

The public modelling assumptions book for the modelling reported in the EV Energy Taskforce's (EVET) Charging the Future: Drivers for Success 2035 report, published March 2022. Using Energy Systems Catapult’s transport modelling expertise, the Taskforce assessed for the first time what will be required of the UK’s public charging network to meet the needs of drivers, investors and the energy system. It shows how infrastructure can support the phase out of sales of new internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles between 2030-35, and deliver on the transport ambition of Carbon Budget Six. The assumptions book here outlines some of the key data used for the modelling work ESC's Transport team carried out using the ESME Transport whole systems transport and energy system analytical framework. The data covers assumptions around: - End Users - Chargepoints - Vehicles - Electricity Networks - Other supporting assumptions
