The Pecos Valley Artesian Conservancy District (PVACD) was created by Order of the District Court of Chaves County, New Mexico, on January 11, 1932. The district was created to conserve the waters of the Roswell-Artesian Basin, including the lands within the Basin located in both Chaves and Eddy Counties.

Users who have some programming knowledge can also query this data with the Python programming language following this tutorial (https://developer.newmexicowaterdata.org/help). Development is currently underway for applications that more easily allow general users to query and visualize this data.
