Overview

This website and linked report (PDF), produced by the Actuaries Institute, examines home insurance affordability and socioeconomic equity under different climate change scenarios. This is done via a new index called the Australian Actuaries Home Insurance Affordability Index (AAHIA). The report overlays data on a low and high emissions scenario of climate change to project what affordability by household may look like in 2050. It also provides analysis and policy implications. Data is presented at the Local Government Area (LGA) level, in a variety of static maps and charts.
