Overview

An annual summary report on Medicare-subsidised mental health services, prepared by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW). The data includes number of persons who accessed Medicare-subsidised mental health-specific services and the number of services provided by type of service (e.g., GP, psychiatrist, psychologist). The data is available at different geographic levels, including state, Remoteness Area, Primary Health Network (PHN), and SA3. From the 2020-21 reporting year, data are also available by demographics (sex, age group) mode of access (telehealth vs. in-person). Data downloads are available in Excel (XLSX) format.
