The 2023 Cities Energy Mix dataset contains data on the energy mix of electricity, heating and cooling, self-reported by cities and local governments in 2023. Grid policy is often set at state or utility level and local governments may not have direct control over their energy mix. The dataset also identifies cities with a renewable energy target. The data is drawn from questions 3.1a, 3.1b, 6.1 and 0.1 in the Cities 2023 questionnaire.
