Overview

The English Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) measure relative levels of deprivation in 32,844 small areas or neighbourhoods, called Lower-layer Super Output Areas, in England. The IMD includes an overall deprivation score, which is derived from a series of 'domains' and 'sub-domains'. These include the list below which are all included in the data here: - Income - Employment - Health Deprivation and Disability - Crime - Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI) - Income Deprivation Affecting Older People (IDAOPI) - Education, Skills and Training - Children and Young People - Adult Skills - Barriers to Housing and Services - Geographical Barriers - Wider Barriers - Living Environment - Indoors - Outdoors The data provided here has been filtered to only include statistics on relative deprivation in small areas in Birmingham. *Note:* The data includes the original scores, with ranks and deciles recalculated to be relative to Birmingham only.
