Overview

This dataset quantifies the change in global mean surface temperature (GMST), in degrees Celsius, that can be attributed to cumulative greenhouse gas emissions (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O) from each economy, from 1851 to the most recent year. It estimates how each country’s historical contribution to atmospheric CO₂-equivalent emissions drives warming, using global warming potentials (GWP*) and the transient climate response to cumulative emissions (TCRE) approach. The warming impact is calculated based on national emissions data aggregated across fossil and land-use sources and converted to a temperature change index, showing the contribution to global climate change over time.
