Published in 1997 by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics as part of the National Transportation Atlas Database. The nominal scale of the data set is 1:100,000 with a maximal positional error of 80 meters. This data set includes the major highway road segments of the original data set and is suitable for routing, but only a subset of the attributes.
