Agreements entered into by Natural England with owners and occupiers of Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and occasionally on adjacent land. The purpose of these Agreements is to enable the land to be managed to achieve the nature conservation objectives. They are delivered through the Conservation and Enhancement Scheme; and the Statutory powers for these Agreements were given to Natural England in the Natural Environment and Rural Communities (NERC) Act 2006 (Chapter 1, Section 7).
