Individual Land Management Initiative boundaries.  The LMIs worked with farmers, local communities and other interested organisations, to investigate the problems faced by land managers.The aim was to research and demonstrate innovative practical solutions that would maintain viable farm businesses, while providing a wide range of economic, environmental and social benefits. The aims of each LMI were defined locally, in partnership with stakeholders, and were guided by the objectives of the national programme.
