Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) holds the promise of increased oil production from known petroleum accumulations as an alternative to increased imports of foreign oil and an addition to continuing exploration for new reserves. Many hurdles remain, however, in moving the technology out of the laboratory and into the oil field.
