A monthly updated snapshot of the number of meters connected by local authority district and by meter category: smart; and not smart (analogue). Specifically, our smart meter definition is that the meter is connected to the national communications infrastructure provided by the Data Communication Company (DCC). Note 1: where Northern Powergrid borders other DNO boundaries and share coverage of common local authorities, only Northern Powergrid customers numbers are shown. Note 2: the smart meters are mapped to Local Authority by post code using Office for National Statistics datasets which are updated periodically. However, Northern Powergrid smart meter installation counts are updated monthly. Contains Local Authority district code and name data sourced from the Office for National Statistics licensed under the Open Government Licence v.3.0.
