Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program's municipal tree inventory approach and tools have been developed to engage community members in the care and management of their trees and forests, and help them to identify, prioritize, and take action on the management needs identified in their inventory. Tree inventory support for Vermont communities has fallen under two initiatives: municipal tree inventories and ash inventories to support community preparedness for emerald ash borer.
