The dashboards provide counts of walking and cycling activity at specific sites on the NSW network where counter devices have been installed.  This data can be used to observe trends in walking and cycling numbers across a typical day or across longer time periods such as weeks, months and years. 

Walking and cycling counts

Twice a year City of Sydney council carries out cycling count surveys to give them a picture of cycling trends across the local area. The counts take place at around 100 locations in fair weather conditions, on a weekday in March and October.




Bicycle count - City of Sydney

Between 2007 and 2019, RMS used bicycle counters at selected locations around the Sydney metropolitan area to collect data on the number of cyclists. Historic RMS Cycling Statistics

This dataset includes cycleway usage and pedestrian counts from 1 Jan 2018 to 11 Sept 2020. The Data is separated into flow of direction as well as cyclist and Pedestrians.
