Overview

MERGANSER is a model that estimates Mercury (Hg) concentrations (ppm) for common species in 4400 New England lakes. It was designed to estimate Hg under current conditions, but can also be used to predict how fish Hg might change under a limited set of hypothetical conditions, such as small increases in average temperature or reductions in Hg deposition. For a complete description of the model, its uses and limitations, see Shanley, et al. Environmental Science and Technology, 2012. 46:4641-4648.
